Publishing Ethics

The Journal of Pure Mathematics  obeys certain ethical standards for publication of good quality research articles. The publisher remains responsible for keeping the confidentiality of all the correspondences and in no circumstances shall disclose any information which may go against the interests of authors, reviewers and editors.

Authors should submit original works for consideration of possible publication in JPM. The term ‘Original work’ refers to the work that has not been published earlier (partially or in full) in any form. Also, the article submitted to JPM should not be submitted to any other journal simultaneously. The transparency on the re-use of author’s own material is mandatory to avoid ‘self-plagiarism’. No data should be fabricated or manipulated (including images).

Copying data or idea(s) from publications of other people causes ‘plagiarism’ and therefore the authors need to carefully check their article before making any submission. The authors remain responsible for any sort of ‘plagiarism’. However, the journal may use software to screen for plagiarism.

Proper acknowledgements to other works must be given (this includes material that is closely copied (near verbatim), summarized and/or paraphrased).

Any submission to JPM automatically ensures the consent of all the co-authors (if any). Authors whose names appear on the submission share collective responsibility and accountability for the results. Changes of authorship or in the order of authors are not accepted after acceptance of a manuscript.

Reviewers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript under review. No reviewer is expected to disclose the article or any of its part to anyone. Information or ideas received through peer review must not be used by the reviewer for personal or anyone’s advantage.
